Dr. Mustafa Hashem
Co Founder/ ChairDr. Mustafa Hashem, co-founder, and chair at Downriver Heart and Vascular Specialists, Southgate, Michigan, is a highly accomplished cardiologist. Graduating from King Saud University, he completed his cardiology fellowship in 2003. Board-certified in multiple specialties, Dr. Hashem served as Chief Cardiologist at Henry Ford Hospital and is now the Cardiac Lab Director. He holds connections with the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. An enthusiastic educator, he regularly lectures at conferences and teaches medical students and residents. Dr. Hashem's successful practice reflects his dedication to providing top-notch cardiovascular care.
Dr. Boshra Almoayed
Co-Founder, Vice ChairDr. Boshra Almoayed, a board-certified psychiatrist, founded Feeling Good Medical Center in Dearborn, Michigan. She holds esteemed memberships and certifications, including the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and a diploma in psychotherapy from the American Psychotherapy Association. After excelling in Saudi Arabia, she pursued her medical education in the United States, completing her residency at St. Elizabeth Hospital and a prestigious fellowship in psychosomatic medicine at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Almoayed's illustrious career spans over 25 years, during which she treated VIP patients globally, delivered lectures on mental health internationally, and founded the Yemen Crisis Foundation to support her homeland.
Dr. Azzam Adhal
Co Founder, TreasurerDr. Azzam Adhal, born and raised in Aden, Yemen, pursued a remarkable medical career. After graduating from Aden College, he completed his pre-medical education at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Baghdad in Iraq. Dr. Adhal served as the medical director of Olofi Hospital in Hudaydah, Yemen, before advancing his training in internal medicine at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In the United States, he held the position of chief of medicine at Bay Medical Center. He served on the Board of Trustees for Bay Medical Center and Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, Florida (HCA). As a clinical instructor for Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, he actively teaches medical and nurse practitioner students. Furthermore, Dr. Adhal continues volunteering at the Avicenna Muslim clinic, dedicating his expertise to serving uninsured patients.
Dr. Abdulraheem Qasem
Co Founder, SecretaryDr. Abdulraheem Qasem, a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist at AdventHealth Cancer Center in Kansas, was born in Al-Mahweet, Yemen. He earned his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology. After completing his residency and specialized training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, he became an assistant professor of medicine. Dr. Qasem is certified by the MD Anderson Cancer Network and is a member of various prestigious medical organizations. He actively contributes to medical education in Yemen and collaborates on complex cases with local physicians to enhance patient care.
Dr. Yaslam Balfaqih
Co-Founder, TreasurerDr. Yaslam Balfaqih, originally from Hadramout-Yemen, earned his medical degree from Jordan University of Science & Technology. He pursued postgraduate training in Pediatrics at prestigious institutions in Jordan and Qatar before moving to the United States to further advance his education and career. He is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and practices pediatric sleep medicine at Dayton Children’s Specialty Physicians. Additionally, he holds an academic role as an assistant professor of pediatrics/sleep medicine for medical students at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. He’s is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. He actively contributes to humanitarian & healthcare efforts through YAMANA, which he co-founded in May 2020.
Dr. Mohamed Sohoubah
Co-FounderMohamed Sohoubah, PharmD., operates twenty-five locations and is a successful entrepreneur and CEO of BioMed Specialty Pharmacy and PharMor Pharmacy. He immigrated to the U.S. from Yemen at 14, graduating with honors from Wayne State University School of Pharmacy. Mohamed's expertise in pharmaceutical compounding led to the development of proprietary formulations for various conditions. He received recognition for his achievements, including the Crain's Detroit Business ``American Dreamer`` and the Governor of Michigan New American Leadership awards. Mohamed is a dedicated community supporter, serving as president of the MYSA soccer club and contributing to NAAMA's board for eight years.
Dr. Murad Moqbel
Co-FounderDr. Murad Moqbel is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and the Director of the Master of Science in Business Analytics program at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He earned his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from Texas A&M International University and holds an MBA with a concentration in Information Systems from Emporia State University. His research focuses on human behavior in relation to information technologies, including technology addiction. Dr. Moqbel has published nearly 40 peer-reviewed papers and has taught at institutions such as the University of Kansas Medical Center and the University of Oklahoma. With over a decade of professional experience, including a role at H&R Block, he has received multiple awards for research, teaching, and service, and serves on editorial boards for various journals and conferences.
