Dr. Mustafa Hashem

Co Founder/Chair
Dr. Mustafa Hashem is a board-certified cardiologist and Co-Founder/Chair of Downriver Heart and Vascular Specialists in Southgate, Michigan. A graduate of King Saud University, he completed his cardiology fellowship in 2003. Formerly Chief Cardiologist at Henry Ford Hospital and now its Cardiac Lab Director, he is affiliated with the ACC and SCAI. Known for his commitment to education, he frequently lectures and teaches trainees, delivering top-quality cardiovascular care.

Dr. Murad Moqbel

Co Founder

Dr. Murad Moqbel is an Associate Professor of Information Systems and Director of the MS in Business Analytics at UTRGV. He holds a Ph.D. in MIS from Texas A&M International University and an MBA in Information Systems. His research explores technology-related human behavior, with nearly 40 peer-reviewed publications. With prior teaching roles at major universities and over a decade of industry experience, he has earned multiple awards and serves on editorial boards for several journals and conferences.

Dr. Azzam Adhal

Co Founder, Treasure

Dr. Azzam Adhal, originally from Aden, Yemen, earned his medical degree from the University of Baghdad after completing pre-med studies at the American University of Beirut. He served as medical director of Olofi Hospital in Yemen before completing internal medicine training in Pittsburgh. In the U.S., he became Chief of Medicine at Bay Medical Center and served on the Boards of Bay Medical and Gulf Coast Medical Centers. A clinical instructor for the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, he teaches medical and nurse practitioner students and volunteers at the Avicenna Muslim Clinic to care for uninsured patients.

Dr. Abdulraheem Qaseem

Co Founder, Secratery

Dr. Abdulraheem Qasem, a board-certified hematologist and oncologist at AdventHealth Cancer Center in Kansas, earned his medical degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology and completed his residency and specialty training at UMKC, later serving as an assistant professor. Certified by the MD Anderson Cancer Network and active in leading medical organizations, he also supports medical education in Yemen and collaborates with local physicians on complex cases to improve patient care.

Dr. Yaslam Balfaqih

Co Founder, Treasurer

Dr. Yaslam Balfaqih, originally from Hadramout-Yemen, earned his medical degree from Jordan University of Science & Technology and completed pediatric training in Jordan and Qatar. A board-certified pediatrician, he practices pediatric sleep medicine at Dayton Children’s and serves as an assistant professor at Wright State University. A fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and member of the AASM, he also co-founded YAMANA to support humanitarian and healthcare efforts.

Dr. Mohamed Sohoubah

Co Founder

Mohamed Sohoubah, PharmD, is CEO of BioMed Specialty Pharmacy and PharMor Pharmacy, overseeing 25 locations. A Yemeni immigrant who graduated with honors from Wayne State University, he specializes in pharmaceutical compounding and has developed proprietary formulations. He has earned major recognitions, including Crain’s “American Dreamer” and the Michigan New American Leadership award. Mohamed actively supports the community, serving as MYSA soccer club president and contributing to NAAMA’s board for eight years.

Dr Azzat Ali

Internal Medicine

Dr. Azzat A. Ali, MD is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine with over 20 years of clinical experience. He practices in Kissimmee, Florida, providing compassionate, patient-centered care to diverse communities.

Board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Ali specializes in managing complex acute and chronic conditions, particularly in critical care settings. Fluent in English and Arabic, he is committed to culturally sensitive, high-quality healthcare.

Dr. Ali’s approach emphasizes holistic care, accurate diagnosis, and collaborative treatment planning. As a Board Member of Yamana, he brings valuable clinical insight and leadership to support healthcare access, emergency care, and life-saving medical initiatives for vulnerable communities, particularly in Yemen.

Dr. Nezar N Al-Hebshi

Associate Professor and Co-director of the Oral Microbiome Research Laboratory

Dr. Nezar N. Al-Hebshi is an Associate Professor and Co-Director of the Oral Microbiome Research Laboratory at Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry, Philadelphia, USA. He also serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine and is a member of the Fox Chase Cancer Center research team.

He earned his BDS from the University of Science and Technology, Yemen, and his PhD in Oral Microbiology from the University of Bergen, Norway. With over 50 international publications and research funding from the NIH, Dr. Al-Hebshi brings strong expertise in research, public health, and global collaboration. As a Board Member of Yamana, he is committed to advancing sustainable healthcare solutions for vulnerable communities in Yemen.

Dr. Saddam Abisse

Dr. Saddam Abisse is a board-certified Cardiologist and Division Chief of Cardiology at Ellis Medicine in Schenectady, New York. He specializes in adult cardiology, nuclear cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, and non-invasive cardiac imaging, providing care for complex cardiovascular conditions.

Dr. Abisse earned his B.Sc. in Biochemistry, Magna Cum Laude, from Union College and his MD from the Jacobs School of Medicine, University at Buffalo. Board certified in multiple specialties and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, he combines clinical excellence with compassionate care.

As a Board Member of Yamana, Dr. Abisse contributes to improving healthcare access and supporting vulnerable communities, especially in Yemen.
