Stand with Yemenis and support our

Blood Bank Project

About us:

YAMANA, the Yemeni American Medical Association of North America, is a nonprofit founded by Yemeni healthcare professionals. We work to improve healthcare in Yemen by organizing medical missions, collaborating with health organizations, and addressing urgent needs like building a blood bank. Our mission is to provide sustainable and dignified healthcare solutions to Yemen, and the Blood Bank Project is an important step towards this goal, as it will significantly improve the availability of life-saving blood supplies.

Need for Blood Bank Project

Yemen’s healthcare system is collapsing due to years of conflict and economic problems. Hospitals are struggling, and there’s a severe shortage of medicines and equipment, which is particularly affecting cancer patients. Our Blood Bank Project aims to address this issue by providing essential resources and support to those battling cancer.
According to recent stats, around 35,000 Yemenis are currently suffering from cancer, and over 11,000 new cases are diagnosed each year. Many cancer clinics have closed due to lacking staff, medicine, and equipment. Patients often have to travel long distances for treatment, which can be hard to afford. The ongoing conflict has worsened the situation, leaving cancer patients with limited options. Our Blood Bank Project aims to provide support and improve the chances of survival for these patients.
